Discovering me … one stitch at a time

The Scoop

Hi Blog!

It is a busy time around here. We are getting ready to end Summer with a bang! My parents arrive this week for a long visit, we are gearing up for Littlest’s 10th (OMG!) birthday festivities, and Tom and I are preparing to leave for a trip to Paris! All fun things, but lots of prep involved for each. You know the drill!

Around here:

I have now been gluten free for over 3 months! Yay! Last week, I attempted making gluten free pizza at home. It got the thumbs up!

Instead of party planning and packing and all of the other stuff that needs to be done, I’ve been obsessively KonMari-ing the house. Have any of you tried the KonMari Method? It is strangely satisfying to fold underwear into cute little rectangles. Sometimes I open drawers just to admire them.

In stitching related news, I’ll be in the September issue of CrossStitcher magazine. It will hit newsstands this Friday! It’s been really fun to write these little articles.

That’s the scoop. What’s new with you?

Behind the Scenes

  1. If you do have a trip to Paris don’t forget to go to one or two cross stitch shops. They are lovely!

I noticed your article in Cross Stitcher. Absolutely love the pattern. Do you share? I would love to make it for my daughter who is a new mother.

    Appreciate your reply.

  3. Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. Do you mean the ABCs of Parenting? That is a Lizzie Kate pattern. I bought it online at The Cottage Needle but have also seen it in local needle shops. Good luck and congrats on becoming a Grandmother!

  4. Hi Paula! That is such a great idea!!! I am going to start googling for some now. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!

  5. You are doing lots of fun things! Trip to Paris, sounds heavenly! Have not tried the KonMari method of folding, but it looks pretty awesome! Didn’t know it existed, but I do have the Life Changing Magic of Tidying up on my wish list. The pizza looks yummy. 2 months of gluten free is awesome! I really should try it. Have fun with all of your upcoming plans!

  6. Thanks! I am going to Paris for work, but Tom is joining me for some extra days. I can’t wait. Hope you’re having a good Summer!

I love to hear from you!
